Change in climate a benefit
I, like most people who have looked at the history of climate change, believe the rise in temperatures is not only natural but beneficial.
I, like most people who have looked at the history of climate change, believe the rise in temperatures is not only natural but beneficial.
Those like Mr Tudor, who believe it to be a man-made phenomenon that threatens humanity, might like to explain themselves.
I think it is a fair summary of their views to say that warming is caused by increased levels of CO2 and that since CO2 is produced by the burning of fossil fuels our lifestyle is responsible.
This will have disastrous effects upon us all and must be checked.
This conveniently gives governments an opportunity to impose taxes and regulations they would not otherwise dare to propose, but this does not seem to deter the "catastrophists" (remember Mrs Stringer, who positively welcomed "dictatorial powers" to combat this "threat"), who swallow every word of a Government that brought us the Hutton Report, weapons of mass destruction and so much else.
I have a very simple question, if CO2 is the engine of global warming, why was most of the medieval period some two to three degrees warmer than now, when CO2 levels were lower?
There was no rise in sea levels, no drought, no harmful effects at all. I will wait for an answer and I suspect I will have to wait some time.
