There was chocolate licking, shortbread dripping and powerful piping as The Great British Bake Off’s innuendos continued abound.

Host Sandi Toksvig continued to lead the charge with risque comments in the second episode of the series as she tasted some chocolate biscuit filling being whipped up by contestant Chris Geiger.

Toksvig responded: “I wasn’t getting sex, but I was looking at you Chris.

“But maybe for that filling I would be on the turn for you, you never know.”

As judge Paul Hollywood tasted Liam Charles’s pecan and malt shortbread, with oozing filling, Toksvig said: “I will just stand here and catch Paul Hollywood’s drippings.”

She later praised Geiger’s sailing-themed board game when she told him: “The most impressive thing is your compass.”

When he replied: “No one had ever said that to me before,” Leith raised her eyebrows and retorted: “Not your strong point then?”

Faldo’s creations also got an amusing response from host Noel Fielding, after she asked him what his piping was like.

He replied: “Powerful, I’m known as the powerful piper.”

The Great British Bake Off continues on Channel 4 at 8pm on Tuesdays.
