A 57-24 home win over Lutterworth left the All Blacks sitting fourth in the table as they set about recharging their batteries for a return to action at Moseley Oak on November 14.

Last Saturday’s clash saw the hosts making a flying start as they raced into a 35-0 lead during a brilliant first-half display.

In all they crossed the white line nine times through Tamana Vakalevulevu (twice), George Newman (twice), Dan Grough, Luke Brough, Aiden Kabi, Gareth Bladen and Loti Molitika, while Elliot Murphy marked his 100th cap for the first team by adding six conversions.

The victory was just what head coach Rhys Pritchard was looking for following a disappointing loss at Lichfield in their previous game.

“It was a good win and a good response to the week before,” said Pritchard. “The first 35 minutes was the best we have played this season.

“There was an ex-players lunch, Elliot Murphy was winning his 100th cap and the weather was good. Everything was set up and for the first 35 minutes we were different gravy compared to the week before.

"We took our foot of the gas a little bit and started to try different things because we were 35-0 up. If you are 35-0 up, then nil them, or at least try to. But we did get the momentum back and scored a couple of tries to finish strongly.”
