Wolves are heading back to the top flight after a six-year absence and sporting director Kevin Thelwell recently suggested plenty of the current squad could be given a chance to prove themselves next year.

Nuno says his squad need to continue enjoying their football, stating that it was ‘not normal’ how much he and the players appreciated their work last season.

Of the Premier League challenge ahead, he said: “Of course I am excited – we have something really good.

“We have a basis of work, we had an idea that we have to develop, we have players that enjoy playing for each other, that is the most important thing. Players enjoying playing with each other.

“When they come to training sessions you can see even in them enjoying. They can spend 10, 15 minutes playing there, then they go to a game they enjoy. They do (roars) to each other.

“It is not normal when you appreciate so much when you work with some people.

“It is not only a good goal, a good header, a good save, a good tackle. This is what we must keep. We must keep.”

Wolves season ticket holders have been reminded they have until midnight on Thursday to renew for next season.

Just 4,000 of 20,000 eligible fans hadn’t renewed

Meanwhile, former loan striker Leo Bonatini has been linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic.

It’s understood that Wolves don’t plan to sign Bonatini permanently despite having an option to do so.

The Brazilian scored 12 goals in the first four months of last season but failed to find his net in his next 25 appearances for Wolves.
