The academy product is currently at St George's Park after catching the eye of manager Aidy Boothroyd.

With Sunderland's Jordan Pickford and Manchester City's Angus Gunn still with their clubs the squad has been short of keepers for a training camp and 20-year-old Burgoyne has got the nod.

Burgoyne, from Ludlow, broke through into the Wolves first team this season, making seven appearances.

He made his debut in the 4-4 draw against Fulham in December and was then thrust into the national spotlight when playing in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Liverpool at Anfield when Carl Ikeme and Andy Lonergan missed out through suspension and injury.

Burgoyne kept his first Wolves clean sheet on the final day of the season in a 1-0 win over Preston at Molineux.

He was also Wolves' hero in their Checkatrade Trophy penalty shoot-out win over Sunderland, saving two spot kicks, and later had a brief loan spell with League Two side Barnet.

Two of Burgoyne's team mates – England Under-21 regulars Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause – are also involved in the training camp.

Boothroyd is keeping an eye on his players ahead of next month's European Under-21 Championship in Poland. England will play Sweden, Slovakia and Poland in the group stage.

Meanwhile fellow Wolves keeper Jack Ruddy is in the Scotland Under-20 squad that will take part in the annual Toulon tournament in France, which starts later this month.

Scotland Under-21 international Ruddy joined Wolves from Bury last summer. Injury restricted his progress in his first season at Molineux but he played a string of under-23 games towards the end of the campaign.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, who spent the season on loan at Wolves from Manchester United but whose last appearance came in October, is in the England squad for the same tournament.
