What Arkell Jude-Boyd’s former club fans are saying after Shrewsbury Town move
Cheltenham Town supporters have been sharing their views on Arkell Jude-Boyd following his move to Shrewsbury Town.
Arkell Jude-Boyd’s former club’s supporters have had their say following his move to Shrewsbury Town.
Jude-Boyd became Shrewsbury’s first signing of the summer last week, joining following his release from League Two rivals Cheltenham Town, where he spent two seasons.

The 23-year-old right-sided defender has signed a two-year deal at the Croud Meadow, with the option of a third year in the club’s favour. He made 83 appearances in all competitions during his time at Whaddon Road, and supporters have since shared their verdict online.
One Cheltenham supporter highlighted where they believe Jude-Boyd can benefit Salop next season.
They said: “Cheltenham fan here, good first season with us but not great last season if I'm honest. However, he does have good attributes, especially going forward - suits a wing-back role as (he is) very quick, so probably more suited to your system.”
The right-sided defender is capable of playing in multiple positions, operating at full-back, wing-back, or even in midfield if required.
He became Gavin Cowan’s second signing as Shrewsbury Town manager following the arrival of Kevin Berkoe in late January. Berkoe, also a versatile wing-back, has impressed in Shropshire so far, and supporters will be hoping Jude-Boyd can have a similar impact.
Cowan will also be hoping to see Jude-Boyd’s attacking qualities help improve Shrewsbury’s goal return after they finished as the League Two side’s second-lowest scorers last season.
Another Robins fan added: “More suited to a wing back role. Certainly better going forward than defending.”
Several supporters echoed praise for Jude-Boyd’s attacking qualities.
“I think if Salop plays five at the back you'll get the best out of him,” a comment said.
“Really good going forward, suspect the other way. I liked him and was sad to see us let him go.”
Another comment online read: “Thought he was the real deal in his first season. If he can get back the same form as his first Cheltenham season and kick on, it's a great signing.”
