WILL BROOK

Didn’t have an awful lot to do in terms of shot-stopping. Was beaten by the pace of the Will Randall effort for Eastleigh’s equaliser.

Quiet: 6

JOSH RUFFELS

Composed at the back and with the help of Berkoe dealt with the threat of Dion Rankine and Aaron Blair down Eastleigh’s right-hand side well.

Solid: 7

WILL BOYLE

The big Scotsman was caught out once by Blair as he turned him and broke towards the penalty area, forcing the skipper to take a yellow card. Otherwise, he gave the hosts nothing in and around the area.

Dependable: 7

SAM STUBBS

Was untroubled for the majority of the game, but joined in with Hoole, pushing down the right.

Solid: 7

KEVIN BERKOE

Helped Ruffels nullify Eastleigh’s biggest threat in Aaron Blair, but lacked end product going forward with some wayward crosses and shots.

Mixed: 6

TOM SANG

Was once again a key cog in the Shrewsbury midfield, and showed great tenacity and determination to produce the cross for the winner.

Vital: 8

JAY TURNER-COOKE

Not as prominent a contribution as Sang and perhaps did not get into the game as much as he would like.

Quiet: 6

LUCA HOOLE

Intermittently provided a threat down the right-hand side while assisting Stubbs in dealing with the likes of Dickov for Eastleigh.

Fluctuating: 7

KIAN MCMAHON-BROWN

Caused Eastleigh problems with his desire to be direct and run with the ball, ultimately leading to him winning the penalty.

Excellent: 8

JOSH DAVISON

Provided a presence up top to target Eastleigh’s centre-backs but rarely threatened goal.

Physical: 6

GEORGE LLOYD

Set the tone with his early effort saved by the keeper, before displaying pinpoint accuracy from the spot by scoring off the inside of the post.

Good: 7

Substitutes

Isaac Fletcher (for Davison, 83) Added the threat Shrewsbury required in the closing stages and gambled at the back post to score the winner. 7

Subs not used: Gbdoe, Golding, Gray, Gregory, Jude-Boyd, Lee, Thompson-McKenzie, Sousa
