Shrewsbury Town starlet Kian McMahon-Brown reflects on perfect home debut
Shrewsbury Town starlet reveals his mum’s prediction after ‘dream’ home debut.
Loan starlet Kian McMahon-Brown has reflected on his “dream” Shrewsbury Town home debut.
The Burnley loanee emphatically fired Town into an early lead as they secured a 2-0 victory over Northampton Town at the Meadow.
It was McMahon-Brown’s first goal since joining Salop on a season-long loan - and a perfect first outing in front of the home supporters.
“It’s a dream home debut,” he said. “These are the moments you dream of when you’re younger, getting your debut at home and scoring goals.

“It’s my job, so thankfully today I put one in the back of the net, and hopefully can push on from here and get a few more.”
The 18-year-old joined Town on loan a day before the summer transfer window deadline and made his debut as a substitute at Rochdale.
He started in last weekend’s defeat at Fleetwood Town and impressed again against Northampton, making his mark inside the opening 10 minutes.
“You dream of these things,” McMahon-Brown added. “Today, thankfully it happened and the ball fell nicely and I was able to make good contact and put it in the back of the net.
“All I can remember is the ball just landing me, hitting the target. Thankfully it went in and it was a good feeling. The lads have been top, so they were made up for me as well.”
McMahon-Brown wheeled away in celebration before pointing towards his mum in the stands, who had predicted he would score before kick-off.
The teenager added: “She was saying all night that I’m going to score today, I’m going to score today, and thankfully I scored.”
