Shrewsbury Town await outcome of Kian McMahon-Brown appeal
Shrewsbury boss confirmed an appeal has been made for attacker Kian McMahon-Brown, having watched his side win a thrilling EFL Trophy tie.
Shrewsbury Town are awaiting the outcome of an appeal against Kian McMahon-Brown’s red card after confirmation it was lodged.

Boss Gavin Cowan confirmed Town have lodged an “extensive” appeal with governing body Pro Ref - formerly PGMOL - against the controversial red card in the 3-3 draw at Rotherham on Saturday.
The Burnley loan talented was dismissed after raising his hands to an opponent’s chest having been scythed down by a Millers’ player.
Cowan said in the wake of Tuesday’s fine 2-1 EFL Trophy victory over Everton under-21s: “Yes absolutely, I think it’d be negligent for us not to appeal something like that.
“I’ve had good conversations with the guys at Pro Ref, being on the front foot trying to be proactive, Jayne (Bebb) our secretary has put together an extensive appeal.
“We’ve all contributed, my analyst Steve (Corns) and myself, just trying to pull together evidence of what from our perspective is a clear misjudgement.
“We’re hoping for the right outcome and will wait on the FA.”
Town enjoyed a deserved and entertaining 2-1 defeat over Everton’s youngsters to keep their hopes alive of progressing in the EFL Trophy once the group stage is complete.
Academy graduate Jeval Thompson-McKenzie emerged from the bench to score his first senior goal with a stoppage-time winner.
Everton had cancelled out Michael Golding’s excellent second-half opener - a first Town goal for the on-loan Leicester midfielder - and the contest looked to be headed for penalties, which would have eliminated Salop.
Cowan made 10 changes from the side that drew at Rotherham, with only Arkell Jude-Boyd retaining his spot in the starting line-up, with the likes of teen academy players Ollie Hall, Hugo Aiston and Jay Snook, who all impressed, in from the off.
“I think they thoroughly deserved it, I was really pleased to get valuable minutes for the more notable first-team players and then some younger lads coming through knocking on the door and some from the youth team,” Cowan said.
“We want to be seen as a club offering opportunity. Since I’ve been here we’ve done that considerably with young players, being brave and rewarding talent.
“I think tonight is great for everyone. I really appreciate people coming out to support and thought the lads thoroughly deserved it and put on a great show, which is testimony to the future of this club.”
Cowan added of his goalscorers: “Michael Golding has got that in him, we see that quite a lot in training.
“An excellent player, if he hadn’t have had a niggly injury would’ve been quite close to starting in a number of games.
“He’s a good example of the lads getting valuable minutes. We know he’s got that quality and I thought he was excellent.
“It was brilliant for him (Thompson-McKenzie), it was a great first contact for Ollie Hall to get the header in.
“We always say with Jeval, he always seems to get a chance, he’d had a header just previous to win the corner. I’m just really pleased for him with a nice little goal.”
