Micky Mellon surprised by Shrewsbury loss
Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon was surprised by his team's performance following their 1-0 defeat at promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
A goal from Sam Wood – timed at just 39 seconds – was enough to give Gareth Ainsworth's side three precious promotion chasing points at Adams Park.

And the boss, who saw his side slip to third in the table following the result, was disappointed with the way his side failed to cope with Wycombe's high pressing game.
Mellon said: "I'm surprised and disappointed - I didn't see that first-half performance coming, to be honest.
"We had spoken about what to expect here on a bumpy, bobbly pitch with a committed team and to lose a goal so early put us on the back foot.
"But even more disappointing was that we never had the fire in us to then go and start competing and use that goal as a springboard to drive us forward.
"Too often in in the first half we came out second best in too many areas of the pitch. It was really unlike us."
After getting his players in at the break, Mellon made a triple substitution just before the hour mark with Liam Lawrence, Scott Vernon and Jean Louis Akpa Akpro introduced.
He said: "We had a chat at half-time and they came out and did a little bit more.
"The substitutes gave us a lift but and there were plenty of players who rose to the challenge and battled away but we weren't good enough to get that equaliser."
The result means Town have won just once in their last five outings but they have a chance to bounce back quickly at Morecambe on Tuesday.
Mellon said: "It's a concern because we have only won once in five but we will move on quickly.
"We bounced back from defeat against Northampton with a win against Accrington and we'll be looking to do the same at Morecambe on Tuesday.
"A win is what I expect and what I will be pressing the lads for. We will learn the lessons from today and take them into a huge match on Tuesday."
