Busy Shropshire road to re-open on Friday - pictures show resurfacing progress
The route has been in poor condition in recent months
Resurfacing work on a busy county route is set to be completed later this week.

Shropshire Council has been carrying out the work on the A4169, from Shifnal to the Hem.

The road has been in a poor state in recent months, and is frequently used by drivers heading between Shifnal, Bridgnorth and Telford.

The council said the work is set to be finished on Friday.
The road has been closed in sections while the work takes place.

A statement from Shropshire Council said: “The A4169 from Shifnal to The Hem - including Bridgnorth Road roundabout and its approaches - is currently being resurfaced as part of our annual resurfacing programme.

“The road is being surfaced using hot rolled asphalt (HRA) - a highly-durable and water resistant material that can last up to 25 years.
“Work is due to be completed this Friday.”
Last week David Vasmer, the council’s cabinet member for highways, went to watch the work being carried out.
