North Shropshire club donates bags of support for vulnerable children in Telford
The bags include essentials such as toiletries, socks and underwear, as well as comfort items like books or toys
More than a dozen support bags have been donated to vulnerable children across Telford and Wrekin thanks to a scheme run by a north Shropshire rotary club.
Market Drayton Rotary Club has provided more than 15 support bags so far, which are being distributed to children facing difficult circumstances, including those in crisis at home or moving into temporary accommodation.
Each bag contains essential items such as toiletries, socks and underwear, as well as comfort items like books or toys, aimed at offering comfort and reassurance at a time of upheaval.

Telford & Wrekin Council is working with the rotary club to ensure the bags reach children most in need, including those at risk of homelessness or experiencing significant disruption in their lives.
Councillor Shirley Reynolds, cabinet member for children, young people, employment, education and skills, said the donation was already making a difference.
She said: “We are very grateful to Market Drayton Rotary Club for this kind donation.
“These bags are already supporting children who are going through very difficult situations. They provide a small sense of comfort at a time when many children may have very little of their own.”
Teresa Tanner, from Market Drayton Rotary Club, said the club was pleased to help families during challenging periods.
“These bags are a small way of offering comfort and showing that people care, and we’re glad they are reaching those who need them most,” she said.
“We would also like to thank staff from Shrewsbury and Telford hospitals who have kindly assisted with donations.”
