Thousands to boycott supermarkets tomorrow: here's why
The campaign has received over 28,000 signatures
Campaigners have urged people to take part in a supermarket boycott tomorrow with thousands in agreement.
‘We're Not Buying It’ is a protest-led one-day boycott of UK supermarkets on Wednesday, October 28, the day the government delivers its Budget. The campaign is asking the government to use the budget to put an immediate price cap on essential food items.
The campaign has received over 28,000 signatures in its petition addressed to the UK government and has urged people to do their shop on or before Tuesday, October 27 and to buy nothing from supermarkets on the 28.
‘We’re not buying it’ said: “one person staying at home changes nothing. Millions of us doing it on the same day, on the day the Chancellor stands up, is a number that both the supermarkets and the government will have to look at.
“Join us to put pressure on the government by not buying from supermarkets on budget day, October 28th. Let's send them a message that if they don't cap it, we're not buying it”
