More than 100 new EV chargers go live across Telford and Wrekin
A total of 126 stations have been installed in council car parks across the borough including slow and rapid chargers
A major investment in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles has been launched in Telford and Wrekin.
A total of 126 public EV charging stations have now gone live across 21 council-run car parks - marking a significant portion of around 200 chargers due to be installed.
The charging points have been installed by Telford & Wrekin Council in partnership with charge point operator Believ.
The network includes a mix of slow and rapid chargers and the locations of the stations include Wrekin Road car park in Wellington, where 10 have been installed, while others are now operational in Dawley, Oakengates, Hadley, Ironbridge and Newport.

A total of 140 new chargers are being funded through the Government's on-street residential chargepoint scheme while a further 76 are being fully funded by Believ.
Councillor Ollie Vickers, cabinet member for jobs, transport and digital connectivity at Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "These new EV chargers are a clear sign of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and investing in modern infrastructure across the borough.
"More people are choosing low‑emission vehicles and it is important that our car parks keep pace.
"By providing convenient and reliable charging in the places people already use, we are making it easier for residents and visitors to go about their daily lives while helping to improve local air quality."
Cabinet member for sustainability Councillor Carolyn Healy added: "This is an important milestone in our work to cut emissions and support more sustainable travel.
"These new charge points add to that progress by supporting cleaner travel options and making good use of our existing car parks.
"Working with Believ and using Government funding has enabled us to expand EV charging across the borough, giving residents a cleaner, greener borough for everyone who lives and works here."
Believ chief executive Guy Bartlett added: "We are delighted to have worked with Telford & Wrekin Council to deliver this extensive EV charging network and help support the borough's ambitions for cleaner transport and improved air quality.
"By providing a mix of charging options in convenient locations, we are making EV charging more accessible for residents, businesses and visitors across the borough."
