National Grid bosses said today that they were currently in the process of analysing all the comments received from members of the public and other stakeholders.

A spokeswoman said: "Our first phase of public consultation closed on June 20.

"We are currently in the process of analysing all the comments we have received from members of the public and other stakeholders.

"Once this process is completed, a preferred route corridor and substation siting area will be selected."

The spokeswoman added: "We are aiming to announce both in Autumn 2011 together with information on how National Grid has made its decision and the role the first phase of consultation played in helping to inform it."

Meanwhile, Powys County Council said history would be made next week when the authority holds it first full council meeting outside of Llandrindod Wells.

The session has been moved from its usual County Hall location to Welshpool's new Livestock Market on Wednesday at 2pm.

This will give residents a chance to listen to a debate about Tan 8 – the Welsh Government's wind farm policy.

The council meeting will be transmitted to a large screen and speaker system outside for the audience.
