Honda has revealed updates to the Jazz Supermini — including a new engine option and fresh styling.

Exterior changes have been made to the car, giving it the Japanese manufacturer’s latest brand styling. The Jazz now incorporates the ‘Solid Wing Face’ headlight and grille design, as well as a sharper front bumper with more aggressive-looking air vents.

At the rear of the vehicle, shallower grille sections are now connected by a gloss black strip at the lowest section of the bumper. A new colour option, metallic Skyride Blue, is also now available.

As for the new engine option, a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol is now available for the Jazz. It’s capable of producing 128bhp, as well as achieving fuel economy of 52.3mpg and CO2 emissions from 124g/km when coupled with an optional CVT automatic transmission.

Honda says the optional CVT transmission has been “revised to deliver a more linear and refined response under acceleration”.

The 1.5-litre engine option is available as part of a newly introduced ‘Dynamic’ trim level, which also adds a thinner front splitter beneath the lower grille as well as a diffuser to the rear bumper — both finished with a red accent line.

This new trim also includes LED headlights, front fog lamps, side sill skirts, a tailgate spoiler and gloss black 16” alloy wheels.

The updated Honda Jazz will see its public debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show and orders are being taken from November. First deliveries are scheduled for early 2018.
