Major rock band confirmed for Shrewsbury Loopfest
The concert is part of the expanded Loopfest lineup
A major British alternative rock band has been confirmed for a gig in Shrewsbury’s Quarry.
Loopfest has announced that Feeder will perform in the park on Sunday, May 2, next year.

The announcement follows the recent confirmation of Ocean Colour Scene and Sleeper, who will perform at The Quarry on Friday, April 30, as organisers continue to reveal plans for the four-day event running from Thursday, April 29, to Sunday, May 2.
Formed in the 1990s, Feeder have become one of Britain's most established alternative rock bands, with a career spanning more than three decades and a catalogue of hits including Buck Rogers, Just a Day, Feeling a Moment and Just the Way I'm Feeling.
Led by frontman Grant Nicholas, the band have released a string of successful albums, including Echo Park, Comfort in Sound and Pushing the Senses, and continue to attract audiences across the UK with their distinctive guitar-driven sound.
Feeder will perform in the specially constructed arena at The Quarry, which will accommodate up to 5,000 people.

Loopfest said further artists joining the Sunday programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
The organisers said the announcement marks another step in their plans to develop The Quarry as a major outdoor concert destination, while continuing to support the festival's established multi-venue programme.
Since launching in 2022 with 17 venues and 75 acts, Loopfest has grown to encompass around 250 performances across 40 venues, bringing thousands of visitors into Shrewsbury and supporting businesses throughout the town.
Loopfest said the larger concerts at The Quarry are intended to generate income that can be reinvested into grassroots music, helping organisers maintain accessible events while providing opportunities for emerging artists and independent venues.
Jamie Smith, festival director at Loopfest, said: "Feeder are a band we've wanted to bring to Shrewsbury for a long time, so we're really pleased to have them joining us for 2027.
"We've already announced Ocean Colour Scene and Sleeper for Friday, and there's still a lot more to come, particularly with Saturday's programme yet to be revealed.
"The aim is to build something that brings major artists to Shrewsbury while continuing to support the smaller venues and grassroots musicians that LOOPFEST was originally created for. These bigger shows are an important part of making that sustainable."
Loopfest 2027 will take place across the May Bank Holiday weekend, combining major outdoor concerts at The Quarry with live music across pubs, bars and independent venues throughout Shrewsbury.
Sunday day tickets, which include Feeder’s performance, are on sale now.
Weekend wristbands are also on sale now, covering Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2.
Ocean Colour Scene and Sleeper perform on Friday, April 30, in a separately ticketed concert - tickets are also available from the website.
