Visitors to a nature reserve had to be rescued after they were chased up trees by an 'angry' goat.

Police were called to reports of a goat following two women in their late teens yesterday afternoon.

West Mercia Police said a large, angry animal was pushing the girls and trying to knock them over at Granville Country Park in Donnington.

The women climbed trees to evade the goat which chased them around the park.

PCSOs Merrick Liston and Jess Yarnall were called out to the scene to rescue the girls and get rid of the animal.

Officers said neither the women or the animal were harmed but they could not prevent the goat from eating one of the women's handbags.
