TWS attended fallen trees in Dawley Green Way, Chetwynd Firs, Stafford Road, Forton Lane, Cheney Hill and two locations on the Silkin Way.

There were also reports of issues with fallen branches in Dale End Park in Ironbridge.

Russell Griffin, of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "We had numerous instances of trees felled by high winds across the borough over the weekend.

"We had to call our contractor TWS on no less than 10 occasions

"However there was no damage to property and no reports of any injuries. If anyone has any concerns about the safety of trees following the high winds they should contact the council."

His comments came after the county was battered by winds of up to 60mph.

Trees fell across Shropshire, especially on country roads, leaving police to make sure they were safe for motorists.

The Met Office had issued a yellow warning for wind, and had advised motorists to take care while travelling.

Anybody concerned about the safety of a tree in Telford & Wrekin should call the council on 01952 384384.
