Emergency crews called after lorry overturns near Shrewsbury

Emergency crews were called to the aid of a lorry driver after the vehicle overturned on the A5 near Shrewsbury today.

The heavy goods vehicle had come to rest on its side during an incident at Churncote Roundabout, in Bicton Heath, shortly before 2.55am.

One casualty was assessed by ambulance crews.

Earlier crews were called to a crash involving a van and a car in Telford.

The collision happened, in Woodside Road, Ketley, shortly before 10.30pm yesterday.

A team based at Wellington Fire Station and West Mercia Police attended the scene.
