Christopher Kerrell, 35, of Litton Court, Whitton, near Knighton, is charged with the murder of his wife Hollie, 28, who was reported missing last week.

Kerrell, who wore a grey sweatshirt, appeared before Judge Neil Bidder QC at Cardiff Crown Court today.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address and nationality as British at the short hearing.

Judge Bidder set a trial date for October 22 at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.

The next hearing, at Merthyr on Tuesday, May 29, will be for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Kerrell was remanded into custody until that hearing.

The family of mother-of-three Hollie, who was found dead in Powys, said she "lit up every room she was in".

The 28-year-old mother-of-three was last seen at her home on Sunday.
