The parents of a two-year-old Shropshire boy who died suddenly following an asthma attack today paid tribute to their loving son whose "smile touched everyone who saw it".
Little Cameron Brown died after being rushed to hospital with breathing problems. His devastated parents Gemma and Ashley Brown today spoke of their "empty feeling" and said no words could describe their pain at the tragic loss.
The youngster, who turned two in October, had just started at the Little Learners playschool in Bridgnorth.
He was today described as a happy little boy who found everything in life interesting.
His parents, of Elizabeth Avenue, Bridgnorth, said the toddler would be missed terribly and paid tribute to him.
They said: "Cameron was a well-known child who was loved by everyone who knew him and met him.
"He had recently started at playschool, which he loved and asked to go every day.
"He found everything in life so fun and interesting.
"He was always so happy and we're sure his cheeky smile has touched everyone who saw it.
"No words could describe this empty feeling and this pain we feel. He is very loved and will be missed terribly."
Cameron, who had suffered asthma symptoms since he was 18 months old, developed breathing difficulties last Thursday afternoon.
His parents said they gave him his usual inhaler and took him to the doctor before he was immediately transferred to Bridgnorth Hospital.
He was then taken by ambulance to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, where he died that night.
"His heart was racing and he needed help to breath and soon it was all too much for his little body to cope with," said his parents.
Mr and Mrs Brown said last Thursday had been a "nightmare".
The couple today thanked all of the hospital staff and paramedics who battled to try to save Cameron.
"We want to say a big thank you for their efforts to those at his doctors, at Bridgnorth hospital and the ambulance team who cared for him," the couple said.
"And also to the resuscitation team at Telford who tried for so long to keep him going."
Mr and Mrs Brown said they had not yet made arrangements for Cameron's funeral.
The couple said Cameron had been suffering with a cold last week but his sudden death had come as a shock.
