Popular pub on Shropshire border to reopen this weekend after new bosses complete 'difficult job' refurb
The Bridge Inn reopens on Sunday
A popular pub on Shropshire’s border with Wales is to reopen this weekend after new operators took the helm.
The Bridge Inn in Chirk Bank, also known as The Trap, opens its doors again at noon on Sunday (July 19).

The pub, which closed earlier this year, was previously owned by Admiral Taverns but has now been taken over by the Monkmoor Pub Group.
The operator, based in Shrewsbury, said it specialises in estate pubs and has pubs across Shropshire and the surrounding area.
However, the firm conceded The Bridge Inn had “been a difficult job”.
In a social media post announcing the opening, the new operator said: “It has been closed for a long time and wasn’t in the best of condition. It has taken more than double the time it would usually take us to get one open.
“We have refurbished the deck, lightly decorated the inside, added semi-new furniture and created a pool room with fruit machines and a modern sound system.
“There is new equipment in the cellar and we have replaced most of the products on the bar. The products now are our usual base line but we are happy to expand on them if needed.”
The operators added there were still “a few things to do” but the pub would be open on Sunday at noon.
“Nothing that will stop us opening. At this time we will not be doing food except for bar sandwiches and we have a potato oven that we hope to get going quickly.
“New kitchen equipment has been ordered and will arrive eventually but the kitchen needs work.”
The operators added that the “focus will always be the local people”.
