A spokesperson said: "Upon arrival, alongside our colleagues from Telford Central and Wellington, it was confirmed that two individuals had veered off the main track and become lost in the dark.

"Using thermal imaging cameras and torches, crews began a search of the area. At 11pm, a decision was made to request support from our drone team to assist from the air.

"Thanks to the combined efforts of all crews and the use of our technology, the individuals were located, safely escorted back down the hill, and driven to safety in one of our Hilux vehicles.

"A great example of teamwork, technology, and training coming together to keep our community safe."
