The Severn Valley Railway in Bridgnorth was one of a host of locations across the country - and the world - taking part in the event at noon today, Wednesday, January 1.

Billed as The Railway 200 Whistle-Up, the event, which was spearheaded by the Heritage Railway Association (HRA), is said to have been the largest railway heritage mass participation event ever.

The Severn Valley Railway was one of 50 heritage railways signed up for the event - with locomotives sounding horns at midday across the country.
