The Midlands Today regular will bow out from BBC1 on Tuesday, when her last shift will be the lunchtime news bulletin.

But she will be given a special send-off a day later when she is a guest on the show which has made her a household name.

Midlands Today will present clips from Kay's own archive and talk about her varied experiences presenting news since the 1970s.

Kay said she felt the time was right to go after seeing her husband Brian Conway – himself a former news presenter – enjoy retirement for the past year.
