Resist the parking charges
I am saddened, but not surprised that the new "fat cat" owners of Telford town centre have chosen to abolish what little free parking we already have.

However, I suspect that we, the general public, will firstly refuse to shop in the centre any longer and, for a while at least, the number of vacant car spaces will increase. Then the novelty of visiting other shopping centres will wear off and we will grudgingly dig in our pockets for that £1 coin, and shop takings will return to normal.
How lily-livered can we get?
I would dearly love to see the residents of Telford stand up for themselves and refuse to pay these charges. I would like, even more, for the larger stores to decide that their customers would be better served if they were to move away from the town centre to areas where there are no charges.
I am one of the lucky ones. I can still walk up to the town centre but I feel that it is unfair that would-be shoppers in cars have to pay for something that I can get for nothing and, in this day and age, most of us need to make every penny count.
