Fine work by council
I, for one, am getting a bit fed up with people bleating on about the new traffic enforcement regime in Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council is carrying out this enforcement via Parkrite on behalf of the county council.

And it is doing a fine job within the river boundary.
It must be obvious to anyone who passes through the town centre how the illegally-parked vehicles have disappeared thanks to the efforts of the new traffic wardens.
The fact that the police did not enforce parking restrictions outside of the town centre (even though they had a legal obligation to do so) does not mean that residents and others can continue to infringe them with impunity.
This will only prolong the anarchy that prevails in all out-of-town areas.
A compromise may lie in residents' parking permits, which will allow for local parking but this will also need strict enforcement by SABC, particularly as such residents will be paying for the privilege of parking near their homes.
