£750,000 shares in Severn Valley Railway sold
Shares in the Severn Valley Railway passed the £750,000 mark in just six weeks, bosses revealed today.
The Shropshire heritage line hopes to raise £3 million over the course of a year by selling shares for £1.

Cash raised will help fund a heritage engineering and training academy and the development of an apprenticeship scheme.
Funds will also go towards restoring Bridgnorth station to its Victorian glory, the restoration of the GWR locomotive Hagley Hall and to help with ongoing maintenance and refurbishment.
Severn Valley Railway chairman Nick Paul said: "I am delighted by the rapid and wide response to the 2012 share offer from new and existing shareholders.
"It is reassuring that our plans for the railway are being endorsed and supported financially."
