Shrewsbury residents given more chances to raise local concerns
Shrewsbury residents will have more opportunities to raise local issues with their MP at a series of events in November
Traffic problems, housing and water quality were among the issues raised by residents at a meeting with Shrewsbury MP Julia Buckley in Castlefields.

The event was the latest in Mrs Buckley’s series of local ‘Meet the MP’ sessions, which give people the chance to discuss concerns affecting their neighbourhoods.
Residents also raised questions about environmental challenges and local infrastructure, with discussions covering water, health, education and transport.
Local councillor Alan Mosley attended to help with council-related queries and provide information about work being carried out by the local authority.
Residents were also able to speak privately with Mrs Buckley’s casework team about individual concerns and seek support with personal issues.
Mrs Buckley said the events were an opportunity to hear directly from constituents about the issues that mattered most to them.
She added that face-to-face meetings and online advice surgeries were both valuable ways of helping residents access support.
Three further events are planned for November:
- Saturday, November 7, 10am-1pm: Face-to-face advice surgery appointments.
- Saturday, November 14, 10.30am-12.30pm: ‘Meet your MP’ event.
- Saturday, November 21, 10am-1pm: Online advice surgery appointments.
The locations of in-person events will not be disclosed in advance for security reasons, and registration is required.
