The theatre, based at Moreton Hall School, will begin its autumn programme in September with Our Star Theatre’s production of The Three Musketeers.

The season will also include author events, with An Evening with Donna Ashworth on October 21 and An Evening with Keith Brymer Jones on October 26, presented by Oswestry independent bookshop BOOKA.

Music will feature prominently, with Puccini’s Madama Butterfly being staged on December 6.

Springwatch presenter Iolo Williams will appear at the theatre on December 7 for a charitable evening in aid of Feed the Birds, while families can watch the Christmas film Arthur Christmas on December 22.

Moreton Hall’s senior school production of Little Shop of Horrors will also take place at The Holroyd in December, with tickets due to go on sale soon.

The theatre will welcome back dance competitions organised by Suzanne Jane School of Dance, while Derwen College will stage its Christmas performance.

Away from the main stage, the programme includes a festive wreath-making event on November 26.

The Holroyd will also continue to host regular community activities, including Face2Face Performance Academy for young people aged nine to 18, Dance for Parkinson’s, Buggy Walks and instrumental ensembles run by North Shropshire Music.

Creative Director Michael Jenkins said: “I am pleased with how the theatre has continued to grow, and with the breadth of opportunities we can offer to our local community.

“The Holroyd is about much more than what happens on stage. We want to provide a welcoming space where people can come together, experience great performances, discover new interests and take part themselves.”

The Holroyd Community Theatre aims to provide a platform for professional artists, community groups, schools, charities, participants and audiences across North Shropshire and the Welsh Borders.

Tickets and further information are available from The Holroyd's what's-on programme.
