Telford forklift operator banned from driving for four years after third drug-driving offence
It’s his third ban in ten years
A 45-year-old man has been banned from driving for four years after being caught behind the wheel with drugs in his system for the third time.
Mr Jacek Wozniak, of Leonard Close in Donnington, pleaded guilty to drug-driving when he appeared before Telford Magistrates' Court on Monday (November 2).
Prosecutor Tuqueer Hussain told the court that the 45-year-old had been pulled over by police on April 27 this year, after an officer spotted him using his mobile phone while driving.
A subsequent roadside drugs test returned a positive result for cannabis. A blood test later revealed a THC concentration of 5.7mg per litre of blood – well above the legal limit of 2mg.
The court also heard that this was Wozniak's third drug-driving offence in ten years.
Wozniak apologised to the magistrates for his actions and told the court he had since stopped smoking cannabis.
Due to his previous drug-driving convictions, Wozniak was disqualified from driving for 48 months.
He was also fined £700, alongside a £280 victim surcharge and prosecution costs of £85.
