The decision comes at a time of significant change across the health and social care sector, with the organisation saying it is important that the views of people using services are heard.

Healthwatch Shropshire listens to residents' experiences and shares feedback with those responsible for planning and providing services, helping to highlight what is working well and where improvements may be needed.

Marie Ryder, team lead at Healthwatch Shropshire, said: “We are very pleased to see this decision. There is a great deal of change taking place across health and social care, and it is vital that local people's experiences remain part of the conversation.

“Our focus remains on listening to people across Shropshire and making sure their experiences are heard. We also want to reach people and communities whose voices can sometimes be overlooked.”

The decision also provides an opportunity to build on the work of the existing Healthwatch network, with more details about what the changes will mean locally expected in due course.

Healthwatch Shropshire is encouraging anyone who has used a health or social care service in the county to share their experiences, whether positive or negative.

Feedback can be submitted through the Healthwatch Shropshire website.
