‘Si Senor’, records, formation: Five talking points from Wolves’ draw with Fulham
Key talking points from Wolves’ final home game of the season.
Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham in their final home game of the season – here are some key talking points.
Mateus Mane netted for the first time since January to put Wolves ahead midway through the first half, but then gave away the penalty from which Fulham equalised.
Final home game winless run continues
With the point to close out their season on home soil, Wolves have now failed to win their final home league game in each of the last six seasons, drawing four and losing two, since beating Crystal Palace 2-0 in 2019/20.
Doherty misses out
Matt Doherty missed the game, which could have been his final appearance at Molineux.
Wolves were cautious over a knock Doherty has been carrying since Rob Edwards was appointed in November, with the defender managing the issue ever since.

Doherty, who has spent 13 years at Wolves across two spells, is out of contract in the summer.
4-2-3-1 set-up
Wolves lined up differently, using a back four instead of their usual back three/five. Ladislav Krejci and Santiago Bueno started in central defence, with David Moller-Wolfe and Yerson Mosquera operating as full-backs.
The formation change allowed Rodrigo Gomes to get into more advanced areas and become a real attacking threat for the hosts.
Mane equals Ronaldo record
With his brilliant strike from outside the box midway through the first half, Mateus Mane etched his name into the history books alongside five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mane became only the second Portuguese teenager to score three or more goals from outside the box in a single Premier League season, after Ronaldo in 2003/04 – with both players scoring three.
‘Si Senor’
Raul Jimenez returned to Molineux and received a warm reception from the Wolves supporters.
There is still plenty of affection between the Wolves faithful and the club legend. Chants of ‘Si Senor’ and ‘sign him up’ rang around Molineux and the South Bank as the Fulham forward warmed up before later appearing as a substitute.
