Cesar Peixoto staying level-headed after impressive Wolves win

Cesar Peixoto has his say after Wolves’ win.

Cesar Peixoto is not getting carried away after Wolves’ win at Preston as he calls for unity with the supporters.

An impressive away following of 5,600 fans watched on as Wolves netted three to get Peixoto his first Championship win.

The head coach was pleased with what he saw, but is keen to remain level-headed as Wolves take on the rest of the season with the fans behind them.

“I’m happy with the performance,” he said.

“The first half was more difficult but we scored one goal and in the second half we managed the pressure well of the opponent and played how I want with the ball.

”We tracked the team, explored the space and changed the rhythm of the game. We scored two more goals in the second half, but I think we can score more.

“I'm a little angry because we conceded one goal. I don't want to concede a goal, I want a clean sheet. But it happened, it's normal.

“I want to say that in the last week nothing is bad, today nothing is good. We have to work hard, the season is tough and we try to keep the players like they do in this game.

“Play with the head and with passion, but with our idea of the game, our identity.

“It’s a good game for us. Congratulations to the players. Thank you to our supporters because they helped us to win these three points.

“It's very important we stay together, all together to fight. This championship is very tough and we need all the people around us to support and win the three points.”

The win marked Wolves’ first league victory on the road in 16 months and Peixoto was pleased to give the travelling fans something to cheer.

“I think it's important because the supporters take more confidence with this team,” he added.

“The team takes more confidence with the players. I think this match has to happen as soon as possible to stay with the mental stability during 90 minutes like we stay in this game.

“It's important also when we play at home to stay with this mental stability, not what happened in the second half in the last game, and it's important also the three points away. One point last week, three points today, the Championship is going to be tough.

“I think it's important to get points in every game so at the end we stay at the top of the table.”
