Shrewsbury Town striker set for exit as National League clubs battle for signature
Gavin Cowan has provided an update on two of Shrewsbury Town’s transfer-listed players - Callum Stewart and Sam Clucas.
Callum Stewart is closing in on a Shrewsbury Town exit, with several National League clubs chasing his signature.
Town boss Gavin Cowan provided an update on his transfer-listed players after Stewart was present but not involved in Tuesday night's pre-season draw with Hereford.

The 24-year-old joined Shrewsbury in January last year and spent part of last season on loan with National League sides Brackley Town, under Cowan, and Aldershot Town. And he could now be set for a return to the division.
Asked if a move was close, Cowan said: “Yes, he has a lot of suitors from the National League. I think he’s in the process of choosing them at the moment.
“He’s a very good player. I think the National League is really hot for him right now. I think he’s got a few choices to make.
“We’re hoping that might get done in the next few days. To be honest, I could have said that a few days ago, it seems to drag on all this stuff.
“But he’s got a couple of options. He’s weighing them up at the moment.”
Cowan added: “We’re open to a loan or permanent move. But I’m not sure where that is, to be honest.”
Alongside Stewart, Sam Clucas - who is also available for transfer - was at Edgar Street taking part in drills ahead of the friendly.
On the 35-year-old, Cowan said: “It’s really down to his agent, to our CEO. I’m not too privy to what goes on.
“I think there’s been some interest in him. But the movement is down to them and what it is that they want to do.
“I’ve been quite vocal that he’s not going to be part of my plans. He’s on the transfer list.
“We want to do things right. But it’s his prerogative, he will decide his future.”
