Craven first joined Town in 1997 after progressing through the youth ranks at West Brom.

The midfielder is a familiar figure in Shropshire, having also made more than 100 appearances for AFC Telford United between 2004 and 2007.

Alongside running his own business, Craven has worked as a coach at Wolves since 2024.

He takes charge of Shrewsbury Town Women following the departure of Darel Tidman-Poole at the end of the season.

Tidman-Poole left after a successful two-year spell at the helm, during which Town enjoyed a historic run to the third round of the FA Cup, won the League Cup and recently added the Tom Farmer Cup (Shropshire County Cup) to their trophy cabinet.

Shrewsbury finished fourth in the West Midlands Premier Division, 14 points behind champions Lye Town, having won 13 of their 22 league matches.
