Market Drayton's first FA Cup adventure is over after they lost 2-1 to Glapwell at a noisy Greenfields - but boss Simon Line was proud of his battling players.
The Midland Alliance outfit were watched by nearly 200 fans last night as they looked to secure a third qualifying round home tie against Corby Town.
Bosses even ran out of match programmes, such was the interest.
But, despite a huge effort to snatch an equaliser in a pulsating second half, Drayton bowed out. Line said: "The players did us proud in the second half and they dominated the whole 45 minutes.
"We have certainly played worse than that and won - the effort and commitment was outstanding."
Last night's crowd was Drayton's biggest since they beat AFC Telford United on penalties in August in the Shropshire Senior Cup - and Line was delighted with the atmosphere generated.
"The crowd made a huge difference and it was an excellent atmosphere," he said.
"I was really pleased with them and in the second half they really spurred us on."
