A new charity calendar has gone on sale in Telford town centre – filled with pictures selected by Shropshire Star readers.

More than 400 pictures were submitted during July and August when the centre invited customers to enter a photography competition.

The prize was a chance to have work featured on a 2013 calendar, raising funds for the Telford Street Pastors charity.

Helped by the expert eye of Shropshire Star photographer Andrew Cunningham, entries were whittled down to a 24, and Shropshire Star readers then selected the final 12 in an online vote.

The calendar is on sale for £4.75 from Telford Shopping Centre's customer service desk and the Shopmobility unit.

Winners include Bridge And Blooms, an image of the Iron Bridge taken by Susan Jarvis, which topped the poll.

Second place was Triple Jump, from Paul Lewis of Telford, showing his grand-daughter Lorelai at Stirchley Pool during a wet and muddy spring day, while the third most popular image was Windmill, from Joanne Beetz of Stirchley in Telford, taken at sunset during a holiday at Great Yarmouth.

Completing the top five were Summer Breeze by Luke Heywood,of his sister Chloe in a wheat field, and Grim Reaper by Les Bekesi of Telford, a combine harvester at work alongside the A5 near Telford.
