Toilets will be made available at a Shropshire cemetery.

A former storage building is currently under renovation and will be converted into a fully accessible toilet at the cemetery in Broseley.

Jenna Munday, the clerk of Broseley Town Council, said foul drainage works have been completed, and a toilet and basin have now been installed.

“Further works to complete the facility will include the first fix for electrics, an external ramp, boarding out the internal space, and installation of a new door,” she said.

“This project will replace the ongoing toilet hire, which will come to an end in the next few weeks. As a result, the council will no longer need to budget for this service in the next financial year.”

Ms Munday added that the purchase of the adjacent land is still in progress.

“We are awaiting final contracts from the solicitor, and we remain hopeful that the purchase will be completed later this year,” she said.
