Budding photographers are invited to take part in a weekly photo challenge to capture the best Telford during its 50th anniversary celebrations.

Telford and Wrekin Council is inviting anyone interested to take part in the weekly challenge which will cover 50 themes.

Each week, there will be a specific theme and residents will be able to share their photos with the council through the Telford 50 Facebook group or by emailing telford50@telford.gov.uk.

At the beginning of each week, the council will post a gallery on the Telford 50 website and in the Telford 50 Facebook group with photos from the previous week.

Residents will then be asked to vote in the group for the one they consider to be the best and to deserve the title of "photo of the week".

You need to have joined the Facebook group to be eligible to vote.

The photos will become part of a Telford 50 social archive to show Telford in its 50th anniversary year and what makes the borough a great place to live, work or visit.

For week one, which kicked off on January 15, the theme is 'Made in Telford' - and any photos in line with the week's theme, that inspire and make people proud of Telford are accepted.
