The end is in sight for the massive multi-million pound construction project.

New photographs have revealed the rapid progress at the site of a multi-million pound retirement village under construction off the A41 in Newport.

When complete, the £20 million retirement village on Newport's eastern edge - opposite Mere Park Garden Centre - will include 61 apartments and 15 bungalows.

The new homes will be available to purchase or rent, along with optional 24-hour on-site care operated by Untold Living.

The latest work has seen a large crane brought onto the site to lift roof insulation into place as roof tiling works wrap up across the project.

An update from contractors McPhillips said quick progress was being inside the properties too: “Inside, the team has been getting stuck into kitchens and plastering and outside things are moving fast too.

“We're making great progress with kerbs, utility works and road forming around block A, all while steadily taking down the scaffolding.”

Untold Living's retirement village is due to open in September this year, with a 70-bed care home expected to open nine months later in June 2027.
