Xpeng L05 heading to the UK with latest AI tech

Full details surrounding new car are expected to be announced at next year’s Brussels Motor Show.
Xpeng will look to broaden its line-up of cars with a new L05 model set to arrive next year.
The Chinese brand launched in the UK last year, opening with its G6 electric SUV which rivalled cars like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7. It will soon be joined by the new L03, which will go up against Skoda’s Enyaq, alongside cars like the Kia EV6.
Soon, both the G6 and L03 will be joined by the L05, which will be slightly longer and more spacious than the G6.

Now, Xpeng has confirmed that its L05 will be coming to Europe next year, following a reveal at the Brussels Motor Show in January.
One of the leading features of the L05 will be its ‘physical AI’, which will help to increase its self-driving abilities. Xpeng says that its second-generation vision-language-action model allows the car ‘to interpret and react to its surroundings’ more effectively, though how this will be deployed in the UK has yet to be confirmed.

While Xpeng hasn’t announced full details for the L05, a version already on sale in China is available as an electric model with either 58 or 71kWh battery options, while an extended-range version is there for those who want to go further.
Images of L05 cars on sale in China show a huge central infotainment system, while an optional ceiling-mounted display can provide entertainment for rear-seat passengers, though whether this is coming to UK-bound models has yet to be confirmed.
