New Collection specification brings a range of features.

Citroen is blowing out the birthday candles with a new special trim level for its Berlingo as the MPV model celebrates 30 years on sale.

A new Collection trim has been introduced to commemorate Citroen’s launch of the Berlingo in July 1996, when it arrived as a versatile option for family buyers thanks to its spacious interior and flexible seating.

Since then, more than 4.2 million examples have been produced worldwide and sold in nearly 90 countries.

The new Collection specification, available on both M and XL bodystyles, will replace the existing Plus trim and introduce a range of features and touches. On a design level, there’s a new ‘30’ badge on the front pillar, while a series of colours, including Icy White and Klarma Blue, will be available to choose from.

As standard, Collection cars will also get Citroen’s Advanced Comfort Seats with three individual chairs in the middle row, a configuration which is exclusive to this specification, according to the brand. All cars will benefit from a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment display of the same size, alongside a 180-degree parking camera and leather heated steering wheel.

There is also the option of a regular petrol engine with a manual gearbox, or a diesel which can be specified with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. An electric version with a 50kWh battery and a range of up to 213 miles will also be there to choose from.

Prices for the new Citroen Berlingo Collection will start from £25,905 for a standard five-seater petrol, rising to £31,890 for an electric seven-seater with the Government’s Electric Car Grant applied.
