Michael Carrick expects to remain in charge of Man Utd for Roma clash

Manchester United’s winless run was extended to nine games in all competitions – their worst stretch since November 1988 – after losing at Chelsea.
Michael Carrick said he expects to still be in charge of Manchester United in Tuesday’s Champions League game against Roma after their latest defeat at Chelsea.
United went down 2-0 at Stamford Bridge with second-half goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer, from the penalty spot, condemning Carrick’s side to a third straight defeat and a fourth in their last five matches.
The visitors also had Lisandro Martinez sent off for two yellow cards, while their winless run was extended to nine games in all competitions – their worst stretch since November 1988.

When asked if he would still be in charge at Old Trafford for Roma’s visit, Carrick replied post-match on TNT Sports: “Yes.”
The under-fire former Middlesbrough head coach also said he did not feel let down by Martinez, who was booked for kicking out at Rogers and then received a second yellow card for a needless arm into the face of Wesley Fofana.
Carrick added: “There is a lot of emotion, we’re a great football club, and we want to win football matches.
“The supporters come, make a lot of effort, pay a lot of money to watch us play. You can see from today the boys had the game in the right place and things have gone against us.
“Things have gone against us, and gone against us in a big way. Unravelled quickly. A lot of emotion right now.
“We have got to move forward and take the things that worked for us today. A lot of the good things, especially in the first half and use that moving forward.”
