LIVE: Shrewsbury Town vs Gillingham - former boss Gareth Ainsworth returns
Live updates, including team news and match action from the Croud Meadow as Shrewsbury Town take on Gillingham in League Two.
Welcome to our live coverage as Gareth Ainsworth makes his return to the Croud Meadow, with Shrewsbury Town taking on Gillingham in League Two.
Ainsworth’s abrupt departure in March last year, when he swapped Salop for the Gills, still lingers. And there will be no shortage of motivation among the home faithful to get one over on their former boss today.
There will also be a moment of remembrance, with supporters of both clubs invited to join together in a minute’s applause in the 58th minute in memory of Richard Green. The defender represented both Shrewsbury and Gillingham and passed away on Thursday, October 22, aged 58.
Town will also honour members of the armed forces, past and present, as part of their Remembrance Match. Today’s fixture is Shrewsbury’s closest home game before Remembrance Sunday, which falls on November 8 this year.
Follow along for live updates, including team news and all the action from the Croud Meadow.
