Aaron Collins thought he had secured the Dons’ first win of the season, but Posh hit back late on.

MK Dons and Peterborough continued stuttering starts to the Sky Bet League One season after a 1-1 draw.

Aaron Collins put MK Dons ahead, only for Peterborough’s Chris Conn-Clarke to equalise late on.

The stalemate means the Dons are still yet to win a league game this season, while Posh only have one win to their name so far.

Sam Nombe had an early shot deflected wide before Peterborough had some good chances, with debutant home goalkeeper Will Dennis denying Harry Leonard and Evan Weir.

MK Dons took the lead after 29 minutes as Callum Paterson’s deflected cross hit the crossbar and Collins scored the rebound via both posts.

Peterborough keeper Alex Bass then made a big save to deny Dan Crowley moments later.

Bass would also make a fingertrip save to deny Collins’ cross-shot after half-time before Crowley blazed over from a good position.

That would prove costly for the hosts when the visitors scored an 85th-minute equaliser as Posh substitute Conn-Clarke’s cross eluded everyone and went straight in.
