The evening did not start well for the visitors as they had to borrow an away kit from the Daffs after forgetting to bring their own kit with them.

The early stages of the tie were relatively uneventful with few clear goalscoring opportunities for either team until Jack Clarke broke into the Llanidloes Town penalty area in the 16th minute, but directed his ensuing shot wide of the near post.

Radnor Valley custodian Will Fowden had to make a smart save two minutes to deny Rhys Evans as he broke into the penalty area.

Evans cut inside to the Goats' penalty area, from out on the left flank in the 20th minute, but his shot on goal was blocked before the Llanidloes Town forward's free-kick from the edge of the penalty area struck the visitors’ defensive wall.

The New Radnor men slowly found their way into the proceedings as Callum Tisdale's header from a 33rd-minute corner was deflected behind for another set-piece prior to Sam Sainsbury's header being cleared off the line two minutes later.

The Daffs went close to breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute when Mason Jones' cross from the left-hand edge of the penalty struck Fowden's crossbar before being cleared to safety.

Radnor Valley continued to push for the opening goal in the final stages of the first half, but were unable to breach their hosts’ defence.

Matt Croose drove into the Llanidloes Town penalty area in the 41st minute, but his shot was deflected behind for a corner from which Tisdale struck a weak shot at Eogan Jones in the hosts’ goal from the edge of the penalty.

The Daffs had matched the higher-graded Goats during the opening 45 minutes and gave Adam Jones in the visitors’ dugout plenty to think during the interval.

The New Radnor outfit started the second half on the front foot as Clarke burst into the penalty area in the opening minute but fired an effort wide of Jones' near post.

Gittoes was denied by Jones from close range following a 70th-minute corner before Radnor Valley finally broke the deadlock five minutes later when Jones punched a Clarke corner into his own net while under pressure from Gittoes.

Llanidloes Town saw their 78th-minute penalty appeals turned down by referee Patrick Wilding prior to George Clarke going close with a 25-yard drive eight minutes later.

Tisdale's free-kick from nearly 30 yards out was turned over the crossbar by Jones in the 90th minute prior to substitute Charlie Beaumont driving into the penalty area three minutes later before being denied by the Daffs' custodian.

The Goats secured their victory with two further goals deep into stoppage time.

Cezar Cakmak headed home from fellow substitute Zak Weaver's 95th-minute corner before another Radnor substitute Lewis Morris netted with a low drive from the edge of the penalty area within 60 seconds of the restart.

Radnor Valley can now look forward to welcoming JD Cymru North club Caersws to The Bypass in the next round of the competition as they aim to reach the final for the second time in the last three seasons.
