The evening was organised by club secretary, Mark Stevens and there was a great turnout from members and players both who have been with Lakers since the club was formed and as recent as a month.

The main news from the AGM saw key officers Stevens, Danny Toth and Jimi Love all voted in for another term as they continue to grow and make the club a success.

The club also saw the appointment of a new Welfare Officer, Sam Jones.

The evening was rounded off on a high note with the awards ceremony.

It was the first time Lakers have staged such an event and testament to how our club and players have grown.

They awards were made in recognition of all the hard work and commitment the recipients had given, although all the players showed great dedication throughout the season.

Alastair Gardener-Smith led the way when it came to collecting silverware.

He headed home with two awards, the Players’ Player and Offensive MVP.

Youngster Riley Wolfenden-Davies collected a well-deserved Most Improved Player award, while Nathan Hier earned the title Coaches’ Player for his respect to the game.

The ever reliable Mark Stevens took the season’s Defensive MVP, while the final accolade, the 'Llandoddie' Award was handed to Danny Toth for embodying what it means to be a Llandrindod Laker.

Other highlights of our year included finishing in third place in the Ceredigion League, hosted by Aberystwyth Basketball Club, as well as coach Paco Sanchez being awarded his Assistant Coaching Qualification, which is funded by Sports Wales and The National Lottery.

The Lakers hold open sessions for seniors every Monday and Friday evening at Llandrindod Sports Centre. Junior sessions will resume from September. For further information or to get in touch, go to the club's Facebook and Instagram.
