Wolves striker set for move amid loan offer
An offer has been made.
Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare is set to leave the club this summer amid a loan offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian international signed for Wolves last summer in a deal worth up to £24million but he struggled to adapt to English football and scored six goals in 38 games, including just three in the Premier League.
Arokodare is expected to depart this summer and Wolves have now had a loan bid from Trabzonspor, with both clubs in talks over a potential move.
An agreement is yet to be reached, but the player’s representatives are also involved in attempting to seal a move away for the 25-year-old.
A loan move is the most likely solution for Arokodare, with Wolves unlikely to get a big enough offer to warrant selling the striker, while they are unlikely to accept making a significant loss on a player they signed just one year ago.
Arokodare has reported back at Compton this week for pre-season training, despite the likelihood of his departure during the transfer window.
Last season, the striker was involved in a dressing room bust up with team-mate Mateus Mane following the 4-0 defeat at West Ham.
Arokodare was the sole aggressor in the incident and faced disciplinary action by the club in the form of a heavy fine.
Wolves staff and players were particularly angry at Arokodare’s behaviour at the time, during Rob Edwards’ spell in charge.
